In the drawing or painting medium of your choice, learn about the facial structure in order to create more accurate portraits. Instructed by Daphne Côté who has experience in almost every medium. This one afternoon workshop is open to all skill levels.

Bringing Life to Figure Drawing
Description
Thursdays, March 5, 12, 19 and 26, 2015   6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Through the use of a live model we will study the human form to create greater likeness, more accurate proportion, depth and volume through tonal values, as well as liveliness in our drawings. Instruction is both group-oriented and tailored to students’ personal interests and skill levels, with one-to-one attention for each student. Demos will be included. The class environment will be encouraging, positive, and energetic. Students will leave with skills to continue figure drawing on their own.
Participants receive a 20% discount on these supplies:
2B pencil, sketchbook (at least 8x10"), vine charcoal, charcoal pencil  AND while charcoal pencil, utility knife for sharpening, brown craft paper or neutral-coloured paper (pad, about 18x24”), kneaded eraser AND white eraser

Description
Thursdays, May 7, 14, 21, & 28   6 PM - 9 PM
Through the use of a live model we will study the human form to create greater likeness, more accurate proportion, depth and volume through studying skin tones. You will learn to add liveliness with brushstrokes and colour. Instruction is both group-oriented and tailored to students’ personal interests and skill levels, with one-to-one attention for each student. Demos are included. The class environment will be encouraging, positive, and energetic. Students will leave with skills to continue figure drawing on their own.
(The cost of this class includes the model fee.)
Participants receive a 20% discount on these supplies:
2B pencil
Sketchbook (at least 8x10”)
Walnut oil
M Graham oil paint: Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Red Medium, Cadmium Yellow, Burnt Umber,  Burnt Sienna, Titanium White
Brushes: 2 Rounds, size 8 or 10; at least 3 Brights, Flats, or Filberts, size 8
Canvasboards:
5   8x10”
3  11x14”
3  16x20”
Palette, 16x12” or larger
Please bring some painting rags. You may also wish to bring suitable painting clothes, a snack, and a drink.
